About Alpha Sigma

Alpha Sigma sorority was founded on October 14th, 1898 as the Aurelia Society and the first sorority in the state of Wisconsin. In 1930, the Aurelia Society was changed to Alpha Sigma Sorority and Mary Fricker was named our advisor. In 1943 the women of Alpha Sigma took on one of their first philanthropy projects by hosting dinner to entertain the reserve soldiers, helping with bandage rolling at the Red Cross center, and adopting soldiers to write letters to. Our Alumnae Advisory Board was established in 1984. This is very important to us because the alumnae play a large role in our chapter. The active women today are still actively involved with their philanthropy and community service, while upholding the values the sorority was founded on.
